2003 Annual Meeting After a wonderful buffet style meal awards were presented to those members' whose contributions over the past year were exemplary. This year's Golden Pennant Award went to Susan Sharpe, for her exceptional work organizing the Chapter Cookbook. For those of you who are still unaware of this handy little book it contains more than 250 recipes provided by our membership. This project took more than two years to complete but the finished product turned out great! At the time of this printing approximately 100 copies of the cookbook have been sold! This year's President's Cup went to Jerry LeCompte for his enduring help at every boat festival in recent memory. Jerry has habitually helped many an inexperienced boater launch and dock their boat and helped even the most seasoned captain get their boats running when a problem arises (and they always do). Jerry has volunteered to be a judge every year and for many years he personally made many of the awards given at the show. So the next time you see Jerry running around with his tools or up to his elbows in grease down in someone's bilge, take a moment to congratulate him for this award. In addition to these awards the club donated a total of $4000 to the following worthy recipients: Hospice of the Chesapeake, The Living Classroom, The Sea Scouts and The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. After the awards portion of the meeting a new slate of officers was announced and voted on for 2002. The new group is as follows: Vice-President If you missed this years meeting please try to make it next time. It's an excellent opportunity to network and just talk about old boats. Believe that you can make a difference and it will happen. Get involved, the rewards will far outweigh the minimal time you invest. New members and fresh ideas are always welcome.
