2004 Annual Meeting

Once again that time of the year is upon us and it's time to bundle up and get to all those winter projects that were put on hold all summer long. But one last ACBS event for 2004 is in order. This year's annual meeting was held at Windows on the Bay in Pasadena, MD.

After a wonderful buffet style meal awards were presented to those members' whose contributions over the past year were exemplary. This year's Golden Pennant Award went to Cindy von Gogh for her dedication to designing and implementing the chapter website. For those of you who are still unaware this site is an excellent source of information available to members on a variety of subjects. It also contains some great pictures from previous Boat Festivals. If you haven't checked it out log on to www.chesapeakebayacbs.net and check it out! This year's President's Cup went to outgoing chapter secretary Cindy Sherman. Cindy has provided years of service providing the minutes of countless meetings and events. What makes this all the more admirable is she works as a full time nurse in Baltimore. On more than one occasion Cindy would show up to meetings with her hair still wet from just returning from work, showering, then running out the door. On behalf of the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the ACBS we thank both of the Cindy's for their hard work. In addition to these awards the club donated a total of $4,000 to the following worthy recipients: The Richardson Museum, The Annapolis Maritime Museum, The National ACBS Kids' program, The Sea Scouts and The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.

After the awards portion of the meeting a new slate of officers was announced and voted on for 2005. The new group is as follows:

Membership - Pam Maples

Secretary - Joan Howell

Treasurer - Elaine Finnin

If you missed this years meeting please try to make it next time. It's an excellent opportunity to network and just talk about old boats. Believe that you can make a difference and it will happen. Get involved, the rewards will far outweigh the minimal time you invest. New members and fresh ideas are always welcome.
